The sheet "t-test", as by its name, runs t-tests for you. It may run an independent sample t-test (i.e., test the difference between Group 1 and Group 2) or a paired sample t-test (i.e., test the difference between Time 1 and Time 2). In addition to the standard statsitical output for t-test, QuantiTest also compute the effect size in Cohen-D.
How to use?
1. Select the sheet named "t-test" at the bottom of the excel spreadsheet.
2. Empty the cells in column A and column B (apart from the first row) that contain the example values from the template.
3. Copy your data for variable 1 (e.g., Group 1 or Time 1) in column A (from cell A2 and downwards).
4. Copy your data for varaible 2 (e.g., Group 2 or Time 2) in column B (from cell B2 and downwards).
5. The results can be seen in column D (for Independent Sample t-test) or column E (for paired sample t-test).
Please note the test is based on a two-tailed test and unequal variance assumed. Also the results would be slight difference between column D and column E because the degrees of freedom for independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test is different.
The sheet "Chi-Square", as by its name, runs Chi-Square test for you. In addition to the chi-squares and significance p-value, QuantiTest may compute the effect size of the analysis in terms of Odds Ratio (OR) and Relative Risk (RR), and their 95% confidence intervals.
How to use?
1. Select the sheet named "Chi-Square" at the bottom of the excel spreadsheet.
2. Empty the cells in column B and column C (apart from the first 2 rows) that contain the example values from the template.
3. Copy your data into the column B (cell B3 and downwards) and column C (cell C3 and downwards).
4. The results can be seen in columns IJKL.
Please note that the odds ratio and relative risk can only support a 2 x 2 crosstabulation table.
The sheet "Alpha", as by its name, runs Cronbach's alpha analysis to check the internal score reliability. This is a very common analysis for psychological testing that examine the convergent validity of the scales we use in surveys. It applies to a dimenson/factor that contains more than 1 item. QuantiTest support up to 10 items. In addition to the Cronbach's alpha, QuantiTest perform preliminary data screening for your data by outputing the inter-item correlation, mean, variance, and range of the items.
How to use?
1. Select the sheet named "Alpha" at the bottom of the excel spreadsheet.
2. Empty the cells in column B and column E (apart from the first row) that contain the example values from the template.
3. Copy your data into the column B (cell B2 and downwards) and onwards (up to Item 10).
4. The results can be seen in columns N and onwards.
Please note that the Pearson correlation is based on a two-tailed test.
The sheet "Correlation", as by its name, runs Pearson correlation for you. It also produces the p-value of the correlation based on a two-tailed test.
How to use?
1. Select the sheet named "Correlation" at the bottom of the excel spreadsheet.
2. Empty the cells in column A and column B (apart from the first row) that contain the example values from the template.
3. Copy your data for variable 1 in column A (from cell A2 and downwards).
4. Copy your data for varaible 2 in column B (from cell B2 and downwards).
5. The results can be seen in columns CD.
Please note the test is based on a two-tailed test.
QuantiTest is an all-in-one excel template that run several basic quantitative analyses, such as t-test, correlation, chi-square test, and Cronbach's alpha. It also helps performing data-screening by checking the mean, variance, and range of the variables in the dataset. It is a very good tool for running those basic tests without using commercial statistical packages. I built this tool for my teaching because students can use the spreadsheet to learn the concepts of some basic statistical analysis. It is useful for students who have would like to conduct some simple analyses for their research projects.
The citation looks funny because it's not a software. However, I would be appreciated if you let me know you are using it.
